BUKEDEA: Local Council Boss Remanded over Messed Up LCV By-election

The councilor representing the people of Emokori ward in Bukedea town council in Bukedea district who was arrested yesterday evening 6th, July 2023 over the Bukedea district chairperson By-election mess has been charged with aggravated torture.

 

 

Steven Omagor after being clobbered by goons commanded by Owenge

Mr. Daniel Malinga Aka Owenge appeared today 7th July 2023 before  Bukedea grade one magistrate, Juliana Kimino at Bukedea grade one magistrate’s court.

Mr. Owenge, who was at large, was netted by the state house anti-corruption unit yesterday evening.

In count one her worship Kimono stated that on 6th, day of June 2023 at the electoral commission gate in bukedea district, Mr. Owenge together with some who are at large unlawfully assaulted Mr. David Stephen Omagor, therefore causing him actual bodily harm.

Count two, on the same day the said persons robbed Mr. David Stephen Omagor Uganda shillings nine million and his electoral nomination and academic documents.

Malinga was therefore, charged with two offences of simple robbery under Section 25/26 of the penal code act and assault of section 236 of the penal code act.

Mr. Owenge was therefore remanded till 26th, July 2023 for mention.

However, the anti-corruption unit number of arrests concerning the bukedea by-election mess increases to six people.
