BUSIA
Two people have been confirmed dead this morning, 15th August 2023 in Busia after being involved in a nasty road accident along Busia- Jinja road.
The deceased have only been identified as the Boda Boda rider and his passenger.
One was an aboard According to Moses Mugwe, the public relations officer of police in the South Bukedi region, the accident happened at Busia municipality at 10am today.
He says the accident involved boda rider riding KNEP 114V Bajaji boxer with a passenger who were knocked by speeding UAS 204V Toyota corona vehicle.
He adds that the cause of an accident was over speeding by the driver of the corona vehicle whose identity has not been got yet who ended up knocking a boda boda rider with his passenger.
Mugwe adds that the two bodies were taken to Tororo hospital mortuary but a mob of relatives of the deceased came and overpowered staff at the hospital and later took the bodies.
By press time, the vehicle and motorcycle were at the police station of Busia as investigations to arrest the driver who is on the run continue.
