An ambulance belonging to Mbale district local government has knocked dead a 7 year old pupil of Precious Nursery and Primary school located at Malukhu Ward, Industrial City Division in Mbale City.
The accident that occurred on Thursday morning happened around Pallisa Road when the ambulance registration number, UG 6740 M land cruiser came from Nabuyonga Rise Road heading to town along Palisa road knocked two Boda Boda motorcycles; one UFA 494R and UFD 105G.
The pupil has been identified as Titus Nabende 7 year of age.
According to James Wandebwa, a Boda Boda rider also an eyewitness, the speeding Mbale district local government ambulance knocked the Bajaj UFD 105D motorcycle carrying the pupil who fell down and died on spot while taking him to school.
Moses Matabingwe, the OC traffic police at Elgon region has confirmed the accident saying that Godfrey Matsanga, the driver of the ambulance aged 63 years of age is currently being detained at Mbale CPS with the ambulance and two motorcycles impounded.
Matabingwe also says that police is still investigating into the matter to identify the cause of the accident but two injured unknown Boda Boda riders have been taken to unknown health center for treatment.
