Officials of Umukuka III, Mike Mudoma have broken into the Masaba Cultural Institution offices located at Malukhu Ward, Industrial City Division in Mbale City, throwing out whatever was left their by John Amuramu Wagabyalile.

The incident that has infuriated the Wagabyalile faction took place yesterday 29th August, 2023 with Charles Walimbwa Peke serving as Prime Minister, Hebert Mulekwa serving as general secretary and Kalidi Masa forcefully breaking into the offices in the morning.

Mudoma was gazetteed this month as Umukuka of Bamasaba leaving Wagabyalile and a section of Bamasaba with lots of unanswered questions about legalities which government considered in gazetting him.

Two weeks ago, the faction of Mudoma led by Hebert Mulekwa wanted to forcefully evict Wagabyalile with his group at Masaba cultural institution offices that he has occupied since the death of Bob Mushikori the outgoing Umukuka in 2021 but all failed.

Allan Muduku, who serves as deputy speaker at Wagabyalile’s faction, told our reporter this morning in a phone interview that the three indeed broke into the offices.

He adds that after breaking into the offices, they threw all important documents, and cultural regalia and later locked with their own padlocks.

Muduku also says that after getting the information they came and found when they had left and they reported the matter to Industrial City Division Central Police Station.

Denis Pahani the police commander of Industrial city division has confirmed the incident saying police is still investigating.

When contacted, Herbert Mulekwa and Charles Walimbwa Peke were reluctant to neither confirm nor deny but instead referred this reporter to the Umukuka.
