NAMISINDWA: Pork Seller, Pig Killed By Speeding Motorcycle

A pork seller has been confirmed dead after a speeding motorcyclist knocked him while trying to cross Bumbobi-Lwakhakha road at Lwakhakha Town Council in Namisindwa district with a pig on his back.

 

The deceased, Robert Mamai who sells pork but resides at Lwakhakha town council in Namisindwa district met his untimely death in the evening of Tuesday, 5th September, 2023.

 

According to Bonny Wekesa, an eyewitness, Mamai had bought his pig and was going to slaughter it at his butchery when he was knocked while crossing the road by a speeding Kenyan Bajaji motorcycle.

 

The rider of the motorcycle has not yet been identified neither was the registration number of the motorcycle got since the rider sped off towards Kenya.

 

He adds that after being knocked, Namai and the pig both fell down and died on the spot.

 

Moses Mutabingwa, the Elgon regional police traffic officer has confirmed the incident saying the body has been taken to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem.

 

He urged boda boda riders to always reduce speed while crossing  busy areas such that they don’t cause such related accidents again.
