A Ugandan man has broken a record by marrying seven wives in one day and in the same ceremony.
Ssaalongo Nsikonenne Habib Ssezzigu, a resident of Bugereka village, Nabbale Sub County in Mukono district did the unbelievable on Sunday, 10th September 2023.
Habib Ssezzigu, who is a traditional healer has two sisters from the same father as his wives.
The man now in the news bought a car for each one of his wives that include, Mariam, Madinah, Aisha, Zainabu, Fatuma and Rashida and the first wife he fondly calls Musanyusa.
The ceremony started with a concert that moved around the Sub Counties that make up Nakifuma Constituency. The couples moved in a convoy of vehicles with applause coming from people who had lined the roads to witness the historic event.
Ssezzigu has now outclassed a one Ssemanda who in 2019 married three wives in one ceremony.
Ssemanda got married to his 48-year-old first wife, Salmat Naluwugge, 20 years ago (by 2019) and they had five children while the other two, 27-year-old Jameo Nakayiza and 24-year-old Mastulah, are sisters from the same parents.
