An Italian national has been arrested on allegations of luring a 23 year old woman into his home to work as a maid only to rape her the following day.
According to a statement issued by the Police Publicist, Fred Enanga, today 12th September 2023, the suspect is Forouzesh Patrick, a 53 year old resident of Bunamweri village, Mpigi Town Council.
Enanga says Forouzesh allegedly raped the maid (names withheld) on the 5th September 2023 at around 5:00PM during a downpour.
Enanga says the facts gathered indicate that the suspect, met the victim at her sister’s place, who deals in chicken feeds at Mpami village, and offered her a job as a house maid, at a monthly pay of Shs200,000.
The victim started work on 4.09.2023, however, on the following day while cleaning the table, she was grabbed by the suspect, dragged into the sofa and raped.
The suspect claimed it was common to have sex during rain. The victim informed her sister and on the 06.09.2023, the matter was reported at Mpigi police station. The victim was medically examined and DNA samples obtained. The suspect was arrested and examined on PF 24a.
“We continue to investigate such kind of suspects who take advantage of female workers, and sexually assault them. The police in coordination with the ODPP will ensure the suspect is charged to court, to help bring justice to the victim,” Enanga says.
