A wife to Pastor Joseph Serubiri of Healing and Deliverance Ministries found at Kakira, Jinja district has been sentenced to serve the rest of her remaining life in prison.

Felista Namaganda aged 30 years was on Thursday, 19th October 2023 convicted and sentenced by the Jinja High Court Judge, Justice Winfred Nabende on two charges of aggravated child trafficking and murder of a 4 year old Trinity Nakisuyi in 2021.

Justice Nabende sentenced Namaganda to 30 years for aggravated child trafficking and life in prison for murder.

Namaganda now joins husband, Pastor Serubiri who was earlier in August 2023 sentenced to the same terms as wife after he confessed to committing the two offences.

Whereas Pastor Serubiri pleaded guilty, Namaganda denied the charges saying she did not participate in the kid and murder of the little Nakisuyi, her Landlord’s daughter leading to her prosecution.

While delivering the judgment, Justice Nabende noted that witnesses including the child’s father, John Mulodi testified that she was the last person seen with the little Nakisuyi before her disappearance.

She also said that upon arrest, Pastor Serubiri implicated her in the planning, kidnap and actual murder.

“He confessed that while he was beheading the girl inside their makeshift in Market Cell in Kakira, Namaganda helped him while also keeping watch to ensure no one saw them,” the Judge said.

She was also implicated in carrying the child’s remains in a green polythene paper and buried them at Wanyange Lake village.

Meanwhile, her co-accused, Pastor Buyinza of Healing and Deliverance Ministries, Ganda, Nansana who had also been implicated by Serubiri was exonerated when witnesses failed to place him at the scene of crime.

Pastor Buyinza had spent two years on remand at Kirinya prisons.
