The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Party leadership has issued an ultimatum to all former District Chairpersons and General Secretaries up to 17th November 2023 to handover Party stamps to the newly elected office bearers.
The ultimatum is contained in FDC Circular NO; 1.2/SG/04/10/23 dated 6th November, 2023 and signed off by Nathan Nandala Mafabi the Party’s Secretary General.
“This is to request to please kindly hand over the Party District Stamps to the newly elected Chairpersons and General Secretaries to take full responsibility for the smooth running of the Party in all districts,” Nandala’s ultimatum reads in part.
Nandala advises those in the districts where no new election for office bearers was done to take back the stamps to FDC Party headquarters in Najjanankumbi, Kampala.
The Secretary General warns that those who will not comply will be deemed to be holding the Party stamps illegally and will be liable to prosecution.
Recently, FDC Najjanankumbi carried out elections for new office bearers despite resistance from the Katonga group led by Elias Lukwago and Ssemuju Nganda. Those who did not participate are now deemed to belong to the Katonga faction and this directive should be intended to purge them.
