BUSIA: Police Ambushes 5 Armed Robbers on Mission

Police at the Uganda –Kenya border in Busia have foiled a robbery mission and arrested the five suspects in the act.

 

According to the police, they got a tip off that the gang had organized to rob a Money Changer known as Rajab Osega, a resident of Kisenyi A village, Busia municipality on Wednesday, 8th November, 2023.

 

 

The five suspects who were arrested are Omar Musena, Derrick Manana, Peter Igobe, Umar Kadaya and Gilbert Mukhoha.

 

According to Moses Mugwe, the Bukedi South Police Spokesperson, police got intelligence that the gang was going to rob Osega on Wednesday morning.

 

He adds that after getting the information, they deployed police officers at Busia Secondary School who camped there and when the five tried to rob Osega, they arrested them on the spot.

 

The operation was however, not very smooth as the robbers injured Osega before the police swung into action.

 

 

Mugwe says that the five suspects are currently being detained at Busia police station while Osega is nursing injuries at Busia Health Center IV.
