The State House Anti-Corruption Unit in collaboration with Criminal Investigations Department has arrested arraigned a notorious land grabber in Gomba district.
Mwesigye Amos whom the State House Anti-Corruption Unit says has been operating within Gomba district appeared before the Masaka Chief Magistrates Court and charged with Obtaining Money by False Pretense on Wednesday 15th November, 2023.
It is alleged that in 2020, the accused together with some family members of the late Nasanairi Kinalwa connived and purportedly purchased 120 acres of titled land from them yet they were not the owners of the said land.
He later fraudulently sold part of the land to other people in order to frustrate the interest of the registered owner Frank Rushanganwa.
One of the victims is a one Steven Kagyenyi whom he fraudulently sold the said land at Shs300M, an act for which he was charged yesterday.
The suspect has also been using some government officials to subdue the interests of his victims. He has been remanded
