The Sironko District Health Officer, (DHO) has spoken out on the Buwalasa Health Center IV medic who on Saturday, 11th November, 2023 defiled a 13 year old girl who had gone to the facility for treatment.

On Saturday, Andrew Masiliwa defiled a 13 year old girl, a P.6 pupil of Nakirungo Primary School located at Busamaga Sub County in Sironko.

While speaking to this website in an exclusive interview on Thursday, 16th November on phone, Paulo Wakoko, the acting Sironko district health officer expressed his sadness with the incident saying they should allow the law to take its course such that others can take it as an example.

He says it is not Musiliwa’s first time to be involved in such acts revealing that last year the suspect was involved in a similar incident but won the case because of lack of evidence.

Wakoko says that he been getting lots of complaints from the public alleging that Masiliwa rapes pregnant mothers who come for delivery and antenatal services.

“This prompted me to ask CAO to transfer him to Butandiga health centre III in October this year but he has been defying the transfer over unknown matters,” Wakoko said.

The DHO also says as a district and health department, they condemn what Masiliwa did saying it is not only the district but even the health department has been ashamed.

However, Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson, still confirms that they have not yet arrested Masiliwa urging him to hand himself to the nearest police station because he will be arrested anyway.
