SIRONKO
Leaders in Sironko district have come up with an official statement about the delayed construction of Buyobo Seed Secondary School located at Buyobo Sub County.
Last year, Budadiri West Member of Parliament, Nathan Nandala Mafabi lobbied for that school and was granted and works were supposed to start this financial year, 2023/2024.
According to Livingstone Giluli, the LCV chairperson of Sironko district while speaking to our reporter on 27th November, 2023, the district has already secured land near Buyobo sub county head offices and they are in the process of titling it.
He adds that they can’t commence construction works when the land has not been titled saying such a move would be dangerous because someone in future may claim its ownership.
Geoffrey Wamanyala, the Assistant Chief Administrative Officer of Sironko has urged the community to embrace the development saying that immediately after titling, the ministry will release funds and work will commence.
He adds that bidding processes are going on such that immediately after titling, works start.
Herbert Musika, secretary for social services at Sironko district says that the government has already given them the school but its titling of land which is delaying works.
