SAD! Mbale City Accident Claims Lives of Couple, Critically Injures Children

Police has confirmed that a couple died in a fatal motor accident that occurred at Busajabwakuba Namatala Bridge along Mbale-Kumi road at about 2:00PM on Thursday, 4th January, 2024.

 

Speaking to the Media today, 5th January, 2024, Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson says the deceased are James Masaba who died on the spot and his wife, Judith Masaba who died after reaching Mbale regional referral hospital.

 

It was reported that Vehicle number UBF 719Z coming from Soroti to Mbale city lost control and plunged into River Namatala at Busajabwakuba in Mbale city.

 

Taitika says the other two who are critically injured are Erina Makhaye, 14 years and Treasure Makhaye, 16 years both are Masaba’s children.

 

The injured are in critical conditions at Mbale regional referral hospital while their parents’ bodies are in Mbale city mortuary pending postmortem.
