The local Defense unit under the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF), has nabbed two notorious goons who have been terrorizing locals in areas of Entebbe sub- region.
The suspects identified as Ismail Senyonga 21, and Rajab Mutebi 20, both residents of Nkumba central zone in Katabi Town Council, Wakiso district were arrested on Monday, 8th January, 2024.
Their arrest followed several complaints from locals who tipped the local council area chairman Peter Mponye, who in turn liaised with the UPDF Local defense Unit that conducted an operation which saw the duo arrested.
The area chairman Peter Mponye told reporters that the duo during day time pretend to be businessmen, and then during night hours terrorize locals. He however, commended his locals for being vigilant and urged them to report any suspicious persons in the area.
The commander of Local defense Unit in Katabi Town Council, Joseph Arinaitwe, said that the duo was found with army attires and bullet cartridges and were handed over to the Chieftaincy of military intelligence (CMI) for further management.
