Buwasa health centre IV health worker who defied a 12 year old patient in November last year has been interdicted.
This was revealed by Nelson Kirenda, the Sironko District Chief Administrative Officer on Tuesday, 9th January, 2024 in a telephone interview.
Andrew Masola, while on duty forced 12 year old girl into sex after convincing her that he is going to do HIV test for her. The girl later reported to her aunt who alerted police, but the suspect went into hiding up-to-date.
Kirenda says that last week, he officially interdicted the health worker and wrote him to come out from where he has hidden himself and give his defence before the district authorities come up with a final punishment.
He says that the 14 days that he gave the victim are ending this week urging him to come out and respond lest he loses his job.
Paulo Wakoko, the acting District health officer, Sironko district also says that Masola committed this crime when he had already been transferred to Mbayo health centre III located at Butandiga Sub County.
He was transferred by the CAO as punishment after locals reported similar cases against him for always raping female patients at Buwasa health centre IV but he had rejected the transfer.
Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson says that up they are still hunting for Masola and urged members of the public to report to the nearest police station when they sight him so that he can be arrested and face the full wrath of law.
