The Parliament Appointments Committee headed by the Rt. Hon. Speaker, Anitah Among has concluded vetting the Presidential nominees for the Electoral Commission.
The Seven Commissioners including the re-appointed Chairman, Justice Simon Byabakama, Vice-Chair Aisha Lubega, and all 5 commissioners, have been successfully vetted today 16th January, 2024.
The other Commissioners are; Hon. Stephen Tashobya who was also re-appointed, Dr. Sallie Simba Kayunga, Anthony Okello, Pamela Etonu Okudi and Robert Kasule Ssebunya.
The previous term ended on 7th January, 2024. The new team will now operate till 7th January, 2031.
