An LCI chairperson of Sililwa village, Bukokho parish, Bukokho Sub County in Namisindwa district has lost Shs2M Parish Development Model money in a house fire.
Patrick Kimuku who is now counting losses lost the money on Sunday, 18th February, 2024 when his house got burnt due to short circuit of his solar power.
According to Kimuku, his son known as Abraham Kimuku left his phone charging and closed the door. That is when solar burnt the house completely when no one was at home.
He said that he had just got his one million and also his wife one million from Parish Development Model which all including other household property got totally burnt into ash.
Kimuko said that currently he has nowhere to sleep, urging the government and well wishers to support him so that he can put back his house.
John Wafula, the LCIII Chairperson of Bukokho Sub County has confirmed the incident urging the district to pardon him and wife in terms of paying back the money since PDM was loan money.
He cautioned his locals to stop leaving phones charging inside their houses.
Imran Muluga, the Namisindwa Resident District Commissioner urged the victim to report the matter to police with evidence then report to the district PDM focal person for further questioning.
