JUST IN: Katanga Murder Suspects Out Of Prison On Bail

Four suspects in the Kampala tycoon murder, Henry Katanga have been granted bail by the High Court sitting in Kampala today, 21st February, 2024.

 

The four are; Martha Nkwanzi and Patricia Kakwanza, daughters to the deceased, George Amanyire, a househelp and Charles Otai, a family doctor.

 

The High Court ordered each one of the accused to deposit Shs2 million and surrender their passports while Sureties were bonded at Shs20 million, not cash.

They are also required to report to the Registrar of the High Court every 1st Monday of every month beginning on the 4th of March, 2024.

The defence lawyer in the Henry Katanga murder case, Jet Tumwebaze has accused the Office of Director of Public Prosecution of harbouring bad elements. He alleges that suspects were pressured to change statements post-charging

 

Lawyers representing the accused said they are going to apply for bail for the still incarcerated main suspect, molly Katanga, wife to slain Katanga on Thursday, 22nd February, 2024.

 

Nkwanzi together with her sister, Patricia Kakwanza are accused of tampering with evidence related to her father’s murder.

 

Henry Katanga was allegedly murdered by his wife, Molly Katanga on 2nd November, 2023 after a domestic fight at Mbuya, Chwa 2, Nakawa Division in Kampala City.
