Tik Tokker Arrested For Abusing Buganda King Mentally ‘Unstable’

27-year-old TikTok influencer Musana Ibrahim, known as Pressure 247 has been produced before Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court on hate speech charges for remarks against the Kabaka of Buganda and President Museveni.

 

Pressure 247 who appeared unbothered at court today, 23rd Feb, 2024 informed Chief Magistrate Ronald Kayiizi that he posted videos promoting hostility due to mental health issues claiming he was recently admitted to Butabiika Hospital.

 

Pressure 247 also told Kayizzi that his “ancestral spirits” sent him to seek for the Buganda kingship throne.

 

Musansa who is a resident of Kauga, Mukono district and also resident of Kiira Road was arrested on 17th February, 2024 following numerous complaints of incitement to violence and promoting hate speech against the Kabaka and Buganda Kingdom on various Media Platforms such as Tiktok, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsAPP

 

Last week, social media was awash with videos of Musana abusing the Kabaka and Buganda. The videos that went viral especially on TikTok were condemned by the public.

 

According to Enanga, following arrest by Crime Intelligence, Musana was handed over to the Criminal Investigations Directorate where detectives processed various charges of misuse of social media, hate speech, offensive communication and incitement to violence under the Computer Misuse Act.

 

“We are aware a large section of people in Buganda is annoyed with these speeches which are embarrassing and disrespectful. As a country, we have very strict laws against incitement to violence, hate speech and any kind of offensive communication which we can’t allow to continue since it can cause devastating effects to communities,” Enanga said.
