The African Union Executive Council has today, 15th March, 2024 unanimously adopted a critical decision, that it is the turn of the Eastern Africa region to submit candidates for the position of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC).
This decision means that Kenya’s opposition Kingpin, Baba Raila Odinga has very high chances of clinching this position.
Odinga has made his interest to contest for this position public and was recently endorsed by Uganda’s President, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and Kenya’s Samoei Ruto in a meeting that took place in Museveni’s Kisozi ranch early March, 2024.
This being the case, Raila Odinga is now the frontrunner for this coveted seat.
