BUKEDEA
The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon Annet Among Anita has today 16th, March 2024 registered her full names to the NRM party register as party member.
Speaker Anita registered at 11:18am in her voting area in Apopoong primary school in Kolir Sub County in Bukedea District.
She was also a companied by Members of Parliament of Soroti West Herbart Edmond Ariko, Derrick Orone of Gogongyo County in Pallisa district among others.
During her registration, Speaker Anita urged the people of Uganda to embrace the ongoing NRM registration exercise.
“I was in Kampala yesterday but today I decided to drive to Bukedea to register my name, I never wanted to call anyone to register my name on my behalf, I wanted to do it myself,” said Among.
Among also said that in 2011 she joined Parliament as an independent candidate after quitting Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Party.
“The people of Bukedea today I want to clear the propaganda that am not for NRM, today I have fully registered my name and I am a full member of NRM party, so let’s all go and register our names,” said Among.
Thousands of people from Bukedea witnessed as she registered her name.
Michael Ongole, the NRM district chairperson Bukedea told this publication that Bukedea has got a total of 336 villages,152 parishes and 16 sub counties.
He said the registration exercise is moving on well. “I want to report that Bukedea as a district is doing well in the ongoing NRM registration exercise and I want to inform people that the exercise will end tomorrow, my appeal is that let’s go and register our names,” said Ongole.
