Four organizations operating in Tororo district have given food items to over 300 Muslims in Tororo district to celebrate with them the month of Ramadan.
The organizations that donated the food items on Friday are Tororo Cement Industry, Alfa Haurriers, Yalfa Logistics and Yalfa Cargo. They donated food items like sugar; rice, cooking oil, and posho flour, among others to support the muslims go through the month of Ramadan with ease.
The donation costing shillings10 million was handed over by Juma Sayyid to the Tororo district Kadhi, Ibrahim Ranganyi, who applauded the Muslims for marinating good relationship with the companies, noting that the foodstuffs are just a token of appreciation.
The outgoing Kadhi of Tororo district, Yusuf Raganyi encouraged the fasting Muslims to use the holy month as a platform to call upon God to give them a heart that yearns for peace.
He says the current nasty happenings like killings, greed, witch-hunt and envy across the World is a demonstration that Satan is almost taking charge of the World and requires serious prayers to help reverse the situation.
He also applauded the organizations for remembering the Muslim community in this month of Ramadan arguing that the food donation will play a big role in supporting particularly needy families have a smooth month of Ramadan.
Muslims started their 30 days fasting month on Monday 11th March and in this period, Muslims are expected to forego all the pleasures of the world and get close to God through prayers.
