The Division Prisons Commander attached to Amuru and Nwoya districts has collapsed and died on the spot after spending hours with a girlfriend.
Charles Ochakacon collapsed dead on Saturday evening around 6:00PM having spent the afternoon with his girlfriend whom police has identified as Flavia Adongo.
Aswa Region Police Spokesperson, David Ongom Mudong confirmed the incident saying the 54-year-old officer collapsed and died at Continental bar and lodge in Purongo town council, Nwoya district.
Cosmas Adyebo, the manager of Continental bar and lodge in a report to the police noted that the deceased had booked a room for two days after arriving on Saturday.
Ochakacon reportedly ate food at lunchtime served by the same girlfriend but by 6pm as he came out of the lodge, he collapsed and died.
Mudong says the deceased was pronounced dead on arrival at Jang Lacor Clinic where he was rushed for emergency medical treatment.
Mudong says police detectives have cordoned off the lodge where the deceased died adding that statements have been recorded from relevant witnesses for investigation.
He notes that scene of crime officers are also making arrangements to secure samples of the food and the local gin the deceased took to aid further investigation.
Mudong says the body has been taken to Anaka General Hospital morgue for postmortem to ascertain the exact cause of his death.
He notes that the police have arrested and detained the girlfriend at Nwoya Central Police station for interrogation.
