BREAKING! 3 Senior Education Officials in Kibuku District Arrested Over Corruption

Three senior Education officials in Kibuku district have been arrested and arraigned before the Grade One Magistrate’s Court on charges of Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.

 

The trio; Wamika Christopher, the District Education Officer, Nabirye Leticia- Senior Inspector of Schools and Otem Stephen- Inspector of Schools appeared before court today 11th April, 2024.

 

According to the State House Ant-Corruption Unit that carried out the arrests, the trio was arrested following complaints from Head teachers that they were extorting them forcing them into paying millions of money from capitation grants.

 

The Head teachers say the DEO and the Inspectors of Schools were forcing them to pay money from Capitation grants and registration of students for the Education Management Information System (EMIS) and other activities in which the schools never partook.

 

By the time of filing this story, the suspects were still within the court premises.
