A mob of angry youths attacked a Prisons Bus Reg No: UG 0419U on 18th April, 2024 at Bunyolwa, Ziroobwe in Luweero district and the video has gone viral on Social Media.
Clarifying on the matter, the Prisons Service Spokesperson, Frank Baine says the incident was sparked off by a youth stealing a phone from one of the Prisons Staff members who was among the mourners.
He says that the young man was apprehended prompting his friends to turn violent in an attempt to cause his rescue as he was being taken to the nearest police station.
“Eventually police and local leadership intervened and the matter was put to rest,” says Baine.
However, in the video Baine is referring to, angry youths are seen dragging a colleague out of the bus before it could continue with its journey.
