MBALE CITY
The newly launched Micro Finance Company in Mbale City called Unifi has promised to serve borrowers at better and friendly terms.
Unifi Micro Finance officially launched its 11th Branch in Mbale City, on Republic Street, opposite the Central Police Station on Thursday, 25th April, 2024.
Speaking during the launch, Mr. Nick Louw, the Country Director informed invited guests that Unifi is a registered and licensed Micro Finance Institution which gives loans to salary earners in both government and private employment.
“We give loans to salary earners payable in one month’s time at very favourable interest rates,” he said.
He also revealed that Unifi does not code people’s accounts and the loan can be accessed within 20 minutes.
He added that most civil servants want to get loans and solve their problems but they fear to go to banks because of high interest rates.
Martha Acheng, the Unifi microfinance Mbale branch manager urged people of Bugisu to welcome the bank such that it can solve their financial related problems.
Achieng added that Unifi has made the life of salary earners easier since all one has to do is come along with a National ID, latest bank statement, and the latest payslip to access a loan.
Milly Lornah Kharonah, the Mbale City Commercial Officer who presided over the function welcomed Unifi to Mbale City saying this is what government wants instead of the unregistered money lenders that are ripping off unsuspecting public members.
