MBALE CITY

Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) has donated assorted items to Mbale regional referral hospital worth Shs200M.

The donation was handed over to the management of the hospital on Friday, 21st June, 2024 by a team of UMA led by the executive director, Dr. Ezra Muhumuza.

Muhumuza says that they have donated items like oxygen cylinders, beds, mosquito nets among others worthy over Shs200 million.

He says that the purpose of donating the items is to improve on health and to support patients who can’t afford to buy such items for themselves.

He urged other companies to emulate them and also support the hospital since government alone can’t manage to support the health facility 100%.

Dr. Stephen Obbo, the Mbale Regional Referral Hospital director expressed his happiness with the donation saying this support has made a lot of impact.

He urged other development partners to come out with related support such that they can manage to help patients since the items can not be enough compared to the number of patients received from the entire Eastern region.
