Equipment and other livelihood items mobilized by the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) NRM meant for registered groups in Entebbe Municipality have been grabbed by unruly people on Thursday 27th June, 2024 at around 6:00PM.

The National Coordinator in the Office of National Chairperson for National Resistance Movement, Hajat Hadijah Namyalo, has castigated the unruly people who forcefully grabbed equipment and items meant to benefit registered groups.

The items include mattresses, blankets, groundnut grinding machines, welding machines, popcorn machines, boxes of chicks, hoes among other things.

Hajat Namyalo told the press that unbecoming behaviour of some locals shall not be tolerated because it hampers her program of youth and women empowerment.

She raised this concern while handing over different items and equipment to the people of Entebbe at Entebbe Muslim grounds.

In her interview with the press, Hajjat Namyalo vehemently castigated acts of impunity that were exhibited by unruly people who grabbed the intended beneficiaries’ items.

“I apologise to those that didn’t get items following interruption from unruly persons. However those who didn’t, their items will be considered next time probably in August in Busiro South constituency. I appeal to you not to accept to be used like condoms and later you are dumped,” Hajat Namyalo appealed to locals.

Hajjat Namyalo also asked locals of Entebbe to safeguard themselves against HIV/AIDS.

“Control your sex appetite and safeguard your whoppers against feasting on every woman’s thing. Remember HIV has no cure,” she warned.

The Greater Wakiso district Coordinator for the Office of National Chairperson, Henry Luzinda, revealed that the grabbed items and equipment had been mobilized from the office of the President and were meant to uplift the livelihoods of both youth and women in the Municipality.

“We intend to uplift livelihood of both the youth and women through our empowerment campaign. In Wakiso district, we intend to empower locals in the eight constituencies within Wakiso district,” he said.

The former Wakiso Resident District commissioner, Rosemary Kirabira, thanked the office of the National Chairperson of the ruling party for its efforts towards empowering youth and women economically.
