PALLISA
Police in Pallisa District have come up with a fruitful investigation after arresting (05) five Suspects in connection with the murder of one young man on Thursday, 27th June, 2024.
The deceased has been identified as Moses Mulisa, aged 26 years and a Munyankole from Ntungamo district. Mulisa had been a money lender residing at Ngalwe village, Ngalwe parish, Olok Sub County in Pallisa District.
On Friday police picked his lifeless body on Kumi- Pallisa Road at Kalaki village in Pallisa District.
At the scene of crime, police picked some exhibits that helped in tracking the assailants with the aid of intelligence on ground.
According to Samuel Semewo, the police spokesperson of Bukedi North, the exhibits led them to a friend of the deceased (name withheld) who revealed to police that on Thursday night, the deceased received a phone call from someone and immediately, he was picked by a motorcycle not yet known.
Semewo says that the friend tried to ask him but he didn’t reveal where he was going.
Semewo says that intelligence and investigation led police to arrest Margaret Acheng, a resident of Bugolya village, Ngalwe parish, Olok sub county in pallisa district who was the deceased’s girl friend but had divorced from a one Okira of the same village just around 30 meters to her house.
Police add that having interviewed Acheng, she revealed that the deceased came to her house and knocked on the door which scared her and made a strong alarm that attracted many people who arrested the deceased. He was later delivered to the chairman LC1 Bugolya village, Ngalwe parish, Olok sub county pallisa district, a one Waswa Tom Patrick 59 Years.
It’s said that the chairman didn’t do anything instead he handed over Moses to the angry mob where the next morning he was found dead on the road.
The assailants killed Mulisa and carried his body to Pallisa -Kumi road to camouflage a fatal road accident.
The arrested suspects are Tom Waswa Patrick 59 yrs old Mugwere chairman LC1 Bugolya village, Alex Omare Alex 41 yrs of age, Lawrence Ujaayi 55 yrs, Amos Sekedi 31 yrs and Mary Nkulume 53 yrs old, all of the same address.
However, a woman friend and a boda boda rider who carried the deceased are on the run.
By press time all suspects were at Pallisa CPS as investigation took its course.
