MBALE CITY
Mbale City Scouts Council has appointed the former Deputy Prime Minister of Masaba Cultural Institution under the era of late Bob Mushikori as their new chairperson.
Mathias Nabuteri was appointed on Saturday, 6th July, 2024 following the promotion of Uthman Mugoya (former Chairperson) as National Scout Assistant Chief Commissioner leaving his former position vacant.
While handing over office to Nabuteri during the commissioning of scouts clubs of different schools in Mbale city at Mbale city offices, Mugoya urged the district and City Scouts Council to train teachers in schools about scouting such that they can also train students and pupils at schools if they are to increase the number of scouts.
He urged Nabuteri to continue from where he has stopped by moving to all schools in the city to preach the advantages of children joining scouting.
Nabuteri on his part said he is going to make sure that 20% pupils or students in schools join scouts clubs.
Moses Wangwe, the Mbale City Sports Officer urged the Mbale City Scouts Council to always go to his office in case they want financial support to organize camps saying his sports department has money to support such activities but he has never seen any officer wanting support from his office.
