President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Has Granted An Official Burial to the deceased NRM C.E.C Member, Vice Chairman For Karamoja and former MP Moroto Municipality.
This was revealed by Milly Babalanda, the Minister for the Presidency today, 25th July, 2024 in a statement posted on her X handle.
Hon. Simon Peter Aleper, Died In A Motor Accident On Wednesday, 23rd July, 2024 Early Morning About 1:00AM.
Babalanda Says Further Burial Arrangements Are In Progress And Will Be Communicated In Due Course.
“I extend condolences to the family, friends, the NRM fraternity and people of Karamoja upon the loss of such a useful person and leader who still had a lot to contribute. May his soul rest in eternal peace!” Posted Babalanda.
The body of Hon. Simon Peter Aleper, NRM Vice Chairperson for Karamoja and former MP for Moroto Municipality,is lying in state at Parliament as of the afternoon of 25th July.
Aleper, died in a hit-and-run motor accident around 1 am at Bukoona along the Iganga -Tirinyi Highway involving a v8 motor vehicle registration number UAP 787q, which Aleper was driving.
The v8 that was coming from the direction of Mbale collided with an unknown motor vehicle that was coming from the direction of Iganga. Aleper was killed on the spot, according to a statement from the Busoga East Region Police.
Police transferred the deceased’s body to Mulago National Referral Hospital for postmortem and towed his vehicle to Iganga police yard pending inspection.
