Busoga youths are mobilizing their peers to embrace advanced education, cultural heritage, and environmental conservation.
Under the Busoga Kingdom Youth Council (BKYC) umbrella, which represents 10 youths from each chiefdom, they held a youth Lukiiko on Sunday, 29th September, 2024.
The gathering, presided over by Speaker Paul Munhana, was graced by Busoga Kingdom’s Youth and ICT Minister, Owekitibwa James Mukembo at the Kyabazinga headquarters in Bugembe, Jinja City.
He stressed the importance of education among youths and urged them to implement the Kyabazinga’s calls, particularly participating in transformative community activities
Mukembo’s message was echoed by Yafesi Bairukireki, the youth council chairperson, who envisioned leading colleagues in environmental conservation through tree-planting initiatives to restore Busoga’s natural beauty.
