Mbale Senior Secondary School Old Students Association has elected its interim committee members.
The exercise that took place on Saturday, 28th September, 2024 was conducted at the school premises and presided over by Sam Kuloba, the commissioner of Secondary Education at ministry of education also doubling as former school headteacher.
Mbale Secondary School Old Students Association has been in place for two years but has not been having leaders following fights amongst members.
Members who were elected are Othman Mugoya the chairperson, Faith Lungo Vice chairperson, Sylvester Stallone as general secretary, Angela Masawi as finance secretary, Yasin Matenda as publicity among others.
Kuloba during his speech urged leaders and members of the association to stick to integrity and good leadership as a way of pushing the association ahead.
He says that old students associations at some big schools have done lots of developments like constructing classroom blocks, libraries among others saying even this one can do the same if members are serious.
Mugoya urged his fellow elected leaders not take their positions as jobs but volunteer work to develop the school.
He says that they have been given only six months before the real election adding that if they work hard they have chances of retaining their seats during the AGM meeting.
