As Uganda Certificate of Education examinations kicked off countrywide today Monday, 14th October, 2024, a 58 year old man from Namisindwa is one of the students who is sitting.
The student is identified as John Nabululu, a resident of Luwa Town Council in Namisindwa district but sitting his senior four examinations at River side secondary school located at Namisindwa town council.
While speaking to media today, before his first paper as he was receiving gifts like pens, and success cards from Peace Khalayi, who is going to aspire for the position of Namisindwa district woman Member of Parliament in 2026, Nabululu says that he stopped in senior two in 1986 due to fees problems.
He says that he decided to go back to school last year from senior three to complete his dream of becoming a primary teacher.
Thomas Wati, the head teacher of River side secondary school says that Nabululu has been a disciplined student since he joined the school last year adding that he has hope that he will pass in division one.
Peace Khalayi urged other people who drop out of school due to different challenges to go back and finish since education has no limit.
She says that the purpose of donating items like pens, success cards and pads for girls who are senior four candidates was to empower and give them moral in seating for exams.
All senior four candidates across the country are starting their papers today with mathematics then chemistry in the evening.
