A 50 year old man has been sent to prison on remand on allegations of defiling his 14 year old stepdaughter.
Mwizerwa Ali, a resident of Bweya, Kajjansi in Kampala City appeared before chief magistrate’s court on charges of aggravated defilement on Friday, 11th October, 2024.
According to a statement issued by ACP Kituma Rusooke, the Police Spokesperson today, Monday, 14th October, Mwizerwa was arrested following a report by his wife Nakisuyi Zukah, a 40-year-old businesswoman and mother to the victim.
Nakisuyi reported the matter to police on 30th September, 2024 upon which police kicked off investigations leading to his arrest and prosecution on Friday.
“It is alleged he committed the offence between May and September 2024. Investigations were initiated and the suspect was subsequently arrested by Kajjansi police,” says Rusooke.
On October 11, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) sanctioned the case file, leading to the Mwizerwa’s appearance before the chief magistrate’s court and is currently remanded in custody.
