SIRONKO: Son Exhumes Dad’s Body for Wealth Rituals, Arrested

Police in Sironko district on Friday, 22nd November, 2024 arrested a man who exhumed the remains of his father, Mafabi Abdul with the help of a local witchdoctor and relatives for ritual purposes.

 

Allan Wakoli is said to have been convinced that if he is to inherit his father’s wealth, a ritual had to be performed on the remains of his father’s body.

 

Convinced, Wakoli together with brothers and sisters proceeded to exhume the body remains which they took to the witchdoctor’s shrine for the rituals.

 

According to Frank Muzoora, the Sironko District Police Commander, police was tipped about the ongoing disturbance of the peace of the dead and swung into action.

 

Consequently, Allan Wakoli, Stephen Tata the LCI chairperson of Salalila village, Suzan Mutonyi, Jane Sanyu, Gift Khamoha, Tom Mukholi, Frank Walyaula, among others all residents of Salalila village, Bukise Sub County in Sironko district were arrested.

 

Police also arrested the witchdoctor, as Bashir Makombe among others and are currently being detained at Sironko central police with bones as exhibits.
