Police has recovered three stolen cows which were being transported in a Super Custom Vehicle in Kakumiro district.
According to Hakiza Julius Allan, the Police Spokesperson Albertine region, the 3 cows were recovered on Sunday, 8th December, 2024 inside motor vehicle, UBD 356B a Toyota Super custom.
He says the vehicle was intercepted between Kakindu and Kihuna along Hoima road following a tip-off from a resident.
“The occupants fled, leaving behind three cows, one of which was dead,” he says adding that a document discovered in the vehicle indicates that the cows originated from Kasangati in Wakiso.
However preliminary investigations show that the cows were stolen from Butema sub-county in Hoima district.
Police is now working with locals to identify the owner(s) of the animals.
