Namisindwa District authorities have identified seven privately owned primary schools that they have identified to be coded by the Ministry of Education and Sports.
Speaking to this reporter on Thursday, 9th January, 2025, Sophie Namutosi, the Namisindwa District Acting Education Officer said they have taken the move to forward the 7 schools to the Ministry of Education and Sports because the district has few government aided schools.
Namisindwa district has a total number of 95 primary and 8 secondary government aided schools.
She named the seven as; St Joseph Naluwande located in Magale Sub County, Bilalai located in Lwakhakha Town Council, St. Monica Buwundu located at Bumbo TC, St. Kaloli Lwanga located at Bumwoni Sub County, and Bukhabikula in Bumumali Sub County.
She says that those schools have been operating as private schools however, when they are coded, they will automatically be turned into government aided schools.
Jackson Wakwaika, the Namisindwa district LV chairperson says that the district submitted the names and they expect the ministry to reply before the start of the coming first term.
He says that if those schools are coded, they will get enough government teachers, text books among others and urged the public to embrace the development.
