Police in Tororo District have arrested two prime suspects in connection with the murder of a 28-year-old resident of Moriwa village, Paya Sub County who was found dead at Panorama Cottages Guest House in Tororo Municipality. The incident occurred between January 3 and 4, 2025.
According to a police statement issued today, Monday, 13th January, 2025, the arrested suspects are Nanozi Eseza alias Nalunga Pretty and Awori Beatrice, who claimed to be working for an NGO supporting mothers and babies.
Preliminary investigations reveal that, Awori Immaculate and her one-month-old baby girl, Andera Jane, were lured from Paya by Nanozi and Awori Beatrice, who claimed to be working for an NGO supporting mothers and babies.
The suspects booked a room at the guest house, murdered Awori Immaculate, and stole her baby.
The police were alerted after a lodge attendant discovered the body and reported it to the authorities.
Both suspects have been arrested, and the baby has been recovered safely. Investigations are ongoing, with the police working to prosecute the suspects.
