The Proprietor of Aero Beach in Entebbe, Cornelius Kodet is counting losses after the rising waters from Lake Victoria ravaged some of the beach facilities.
Some of the affected beach facilities include historic Kabakanjagala building, Cemented tables, flower boxes, beach soccer playground, DJ box, 25 grass thatched umbrellas, and the veranda of Barack Obama building among other things. The said facilities are currently covered by water from Lake Victoria after the lake expanded its territories.

According to Mr. Kodet, the affected beach facilities greatly led to reduction in the number of revelers and visitors who used to frequent Aero Beach.
He however, says in order to attract more clients or visitors, management of the beach has put up some tourism sculptures such as leopards, lions, Zebras and seven old aircrafts. And because of this initiative, management revealed that there is an increase in the number of clients and on average at least they receive between 150-200 clients daily.
He noted that last year between January to February they received 300 -500 clients daily compared to 2023 when the number was low as people were recovering from Covid-19 and its induced lockdown.
Mr. Kodet adds that besides putting in place sculptures at the beach, management has added more seats, mounted 15 grass thatched umbrellas with light decorations and on top of securing a new public address at the beach.
In terms of security, Mr. Kodet said there has been a great improvement revealing that during Last year’s festive season, they recorded only four theft cases compared to the previous years when they would have over 200 arrests related to theft.
Mr. Kodet further says this year, management of the beach intends to increase the number of clients to at least 1000 every week, set up a children play center on top of giving the beach facilities a facelift.
