A patient with Ebola-like symptoms has died at the Tororo General Hospital.
The Tororo Deputy Resident District Commissioner, Albert Amula mentions that the patient died on Monday 3rd, 2025.
Amula says the suspect was admitted to the facility last week with Ebola-like symptoms including passing out blood from all the body openings and fever.
The suspect’s identity has been withheld in order not to jeopardize the tracing of the suspect’s contacts.
The RDC states that more details regarding the case and other necessary information will be presented later. “Our team is getting more data on the incident, and we will give details later,” Amula said. At the time of writing this report, the Tororo district Officer couldn’t be reached for a comment as he couldn’t pick calls from our reporter.
Last week, Uganda through the ministry of health declared an Ebola outbreak after a 32-year-old nurse died in Kampala to the disease. The ministry of health said 45 people who had contact with the deceased had been identified and quarantined.
It’s now an appeal to the general public to remain calm and remain vigilant and follow the ministry guidelines.
