Vipers Sports Club midfielder cum striker has died in a motorcycle accident today Monday, 24th February, 2025.
Vipers SC Nigerian midfielder Abubakar Lawal perished in a motorcycle accident along Entebbe Road.
The Club confirmed the death saying, “We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden and untimely passing of our beloved player, Abubakar Lawal, who left us this morning.
He’s body has been transferred to a medical facility for postmortem examination. Funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Lawal’s family, club fans, friends and loved ones during this difficult time.
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.”
Details of the accident are yet to be confirmed as Police has not commented yet.
Abubakar Lawal, 29, joined Vipers SC in 2022 from Rwandan outfit AS Kigali. He has also previously featured for Nasarawa United in Nigeria.
