As the Busoga region grows through cultural heritage exchanges, the Ugandan Deputy Ambassador Mohammed Baswari Kezaala to Qatar has encouraged the exploration of Uganda through connections with Arab countries.

He revealed this on 24th Feb 2025 at the source of the Nile while interacting with media saying he has initiated a cultural exchange program with nine members from Qatar who are both influencers and bloggers to engage with local communities.

Kezaala expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality of Ugandans towards visitors. The delegation’s journey begun in Western Uganda, continued through Murchison Falls, and concluded in Jinja at the source of the Nile.

He emphasized that such connections foster development and generate revenue for nearby villages. He also pledged to attract more investors through lobbying and to encourage increased tourist visits.

Kezaala further revealed that, in alignment with the President’s vision, he is committed to enhancing cultural exchange between Jinja and Arab countries, referring to his mission as “painting Jinja white” with cultural collaborations.

Kefaya Abudallah, the founder of Kefaya Abudayah Tourism Company in Qatar and a social media blogger, expressed her admiration for the breathtaking beauty of the source of the Nile. She noted that while they had previously only seen it in pictures, experiencing it in person was remarkable. She pledged to influence others to visit and invest in Uganda, reaffirming its reputation as the “Pearl of Africa.” She added that they would share their experiences to encourage more people to explore Uganda.
