ENTEBBE: List of 14 Careless Drivers Arrested at Black-Spot, Nkumba University Junction

The Traffic police has arrested 14 reckless drivers in a targeted operation carried out at the deadly Nkumba University Junction on Wednesday, 26th February, 2025.

 

According to the Directorate of Traffic & Road Safety Police Spokesperson, SP Michael Kananura, the operation targeted drivers who make U-turns, and disregard road traffic signs putting lives at risk.

 

He says this is in the response to the fact that the junction has tragically become a black spot, claiming lives due to careless driving.

 

Those arrested are Lugemwa Max of motor vehicle Toyota Mark X reg no. UBF 654H, Nsubuga Benson driving Toyota Premio Reg No. UAV 839U, Bakalangudde Daniel driving Toyota Fielder Reg No. UBF 444F.

 

Others are; Rukundo Brian driving Toyota Isis Reg No. UBP 854F, Ssekamwe Edson, Mitsubishi Pajero Reg No. UBG 766U, Oumo Samuel driving Toyota Fielder Reg No. UBN 828U, Lugwanra Brian driving Toyota Mark X Reg No. UBD 902D, Nyakan Ian driving Toyota Wish Reg No. UBK 741N.

 

Also arrested are; Najjembe Stella of Toyota Noah Reg No. UBP 693G, Mwesiga Eric of Toyota Premio Reg No. UAS 824Q, Mwesiga Joan of Subaru Impreza Reg No. UBN 660Z, Nakirya Joweria of Subaru Impreza Reg No. UBR 335R, Mwikirize Albert driving Toyota Spacio Reg No. UAH 710Q and Lubega Jo driving Toyota Noah Reg No. UBP 034,

 

 

 

All the drivers have been arrested & detained at Entebbe Police Station, where they will be held pending appearance in court on charges of careless driving.

 

“We will continue to intensify enforcement operations to ensure road safety & compliance with traffic regulations,” says the police statement adding that police urges all motorists to respect road signs and rules to prevent crashes and save lives.
