The NRM Diaspora League Chairperson, who doubles as Senior Presidential Advisor on Diaspora Affairs, Ambassador Abbey Walusimbi, consulted and facilitated meetings of the NRM Chapter leaders, and deliberated on several issues pertaining to the preparations of Ugandans abroad, ahead of the 2026 general elections.

Ambassador Walusimbi constituted and announced the NRM Diaspora League Independent Task force Committee.

During the function, Ambassador Walusimbi commended the diaspora community for their overwhelming love and support for the ruling party and its National Chairman, His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

“Greetings in the spirit of unity, patriotism, and unwavering commitment to our beloved nation, Uganda. It is with great honor and a profound sense of duty that I present to you the final composition of the Independent Task Force Committee, a vital instrument in our collective journey toward realizing the vision of His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, our National Chairman and the President of the Republic of Uganda.”

In the same spirit, he has rallied Ugandans overseas to unite, work hand in hand with the formidable and dynamic team, in a bid to popularise principles of the party, while canvassing support for the National Chairman, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

“I call upon each one of you-sons and daughters of this great land-to rally as one, forging a formidable and dynamic team that will craft a comprehensive roadmap to advance our shared goals. With a particular focus on budgeting and finance, this Task Force will work in harmony with respective committees to ensure our efforts resonate across the Diaspora and beyond, amplifying the voice of the NRM and securing a brighter future for our nation.”

Emphatically, Walusimbi has targeted key areas, including political mobilisation, chapter coordination, media and public relations, legal affairs, women & cultural affairs, ethics and discipline, protocol & administration, trade, investment & tourism, small & medium enterprises & saccos, research & innovation, international relations & history, patriotism, socio-economic & labour externalization, diaspora constitution review, among others.

“To fulfill this noble mandate, the following committees have been established, each entrusted with a sacred duty to uphold the principles of our party and the aspirations of our people,” Walusimbi stated.

He appealed to the respective committee members to keep calm amid provocations, and respect one another by ignoring saboteurs and self-seekers who want to use the initiative to fulfill their personal interests.

“The time is now. Let us rise as one, harnessing our collective strength to shape the future of our party and nation in the upcoming general elections. Together, we can deliver peace, unity, and transformation-values championed by His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, our guiding light and National Chairman.”

As the Chairperson of the taskforce, the Ambassador urged committee heads, including Eng. Adam T Kasambula, Male Kamya, Isma Luzige, Dr. Moses Mulimira, Elias Mugagga, SPA Philip Kakuru, Edriss Kironde, Dr. Godius Yesigye, Sylvia Kakyo, Allan Olara, Moses Mosh Kukiriza, Shivan Catherine Namugga, Fred Kinene, Heile Nsubuga, Samuel Kitone, SPA Hamida Kibirige, Princess Umutesi Ajara, Counsel Akampa Mugambwa, Hon. Keefa Kiwanuka, Hajat Halima Namakula, Counsel Peter Magomu, & Bob Robert Luswata, to march forward, hand in hand and secure the prosperity of the NRM party and glory of Uganda.

In a nutshell, Walusimbi advised disgruntled leaders who may not be on good terms with fellow leaders, to desist from any forms of propaganda and blackmail that is likely to undermine party spirit and end up dividing nationals in the diaspora.

“Each of you has a unique role to play in this historic endeavor. Whether you are contributing financially, using your media platforms to spread our message, or leveraging your influence to rally support, your participation is invaluable. Together, we can ensure that the NRM’s vision for a prosperous and united Uganda is realized.”

Ultimately, NRM party goals and ambitions should prevail over and above personal disagreements, if the party is to consolidate achievements and victory. The focus of NRM leaders, should be to promote needs of the people, and things that unite people than dividing them.
