The Lira Chief Magistrates Court has convicted and sentenced Sarah Atim, to one year, 11 months and three weeks in Prison on charges related to the mismanagement of PDM Funds in Lira District.
Atim who was arrested and charged on June 1st 2024 got the conviction and sentencing today, Monday, 10th March, 2025.
The accused being a chairperson of Ipito Aweo PDM SACCO in Lira, obtained millions of shillings from thousands of PDM beneficiaries in Lira district in order for them to access their funds.
She claimed that she was in charge of the online registration of these groups whereas not.
She was later arrested by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit and jointly prosecuted with the Office of Director Public Prosecutions.
