In a bid to strengthen family ties and enhance community well-being, the Kumam Cultural Heritage has partnered with the Family Peace Association (FPA) to host a special Family Day event on April 15th.
This gathering will bring together 120 couples from the Kumam homesteads to explore and reinforce the fundamental values of family life. With travel, accommodation, and logistics fully covered, this event seeks to address critical challenges faced by families in the region.
The Family Peace Association, a globally recognized non-profit organization, advocates for the creation of strong, loving, and spiritually grounded families. By promoting education and support among diverse communities, the FPA strives to foster peace beginning at the familial level.
His Royal Highness Won Ateker Papa Kumam Raphael Otaya has voiced his support for this initiative, highlighting the pressing issues that many families in Kumam land face.
“We are witnessing misunderstandings that span property disputes, child care challenges, infidelity, and food insecurity within our communities,” he noted
“This event is designed to educate our people about the importance of solid family values and offer practical solutions for these pressing issues.”
He said the Family Day event will specifically target couples who have completed traditional marriage rites, encouraging them to reflect on their roles in fostering homes characterized by love, financial security, and overall wellness.
“We believe that by promoting a God-centered family ideal, we can empower our people to cultivate peace within their homes, which in turn can influence the community, nation, and beyond,” added Otaya. On the 16th of May, the couples will be taken to Munyonyo where they will be prayed for.
To ensure the participation of families across the region, his Royal Highness has directed the Prime Minister Samuel Eyenga and cultural chiefs to lead the process of identifying eligible couples from over 200 clan zones in Kumam land.
This collaborative approach emphasizes the community’s collective responsibility in nurturing family bonds.
The FPA’s engagement with the Kumam Cultural Heritage is not merely an isolated event; it aims to lay the groundwork for ongoing support and resources for families in the region.
The long-term objective is to foster a culture of peace and resilience through education, outreach, and continued collaboration with local leaders and organizations.
As participants prepare for this enlightening day, His Highness won Ateker is optimistic that this will not only improve individual family dynamics but also create a ripple effect of positive change throughout the larger community.
So far Kumam Cultural heritage has signed a memorandum of understanding with three Organization, one being world vision to improve the well-being of children, families, and communities, Redeem International on issues of land Right and now Family Peace Association that will handle only family matters.
