IGANGA
Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Enforcement officers have recovered three cows suspected to have been stolen being transported in a Toyota Wish Car.
According to police, the incident occurred in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, 26th March, 2025 along the Iganga-Bugweri Highway in Iganga District.
URA enforcement officers, while on patrol suspected that a vehicle with registration number UBD 244D was carrying smuggled goods.
When they attempted to stop it, it was driven to Namutumba where the occupants abandoned the vehicle and escaped with URA officers pursuing it.
Upon inspection, the vehicle was found to be loaded with cattle. It was recovered and taken to the Busoga East Regional headquarters for further management.
Inquiries are ongoing.
