A land broker has found himself behind bars in a land dispute between departed Asians with a freehold title dating from 1932 and Mwanje Badru who got a mailo title in 1999.
The contested land is comprised in Block 542, Plot 2 in Kiboga district.
The land broker, Ainebyoona Ronald was on Thursday, 27th March, 2025 paraded before the Kiboga Chief Magistrates Court on charges of Forcible Entry, Malicious damage and Assault causing actual bodily harm and was remanded until 14th April, 2025.
According to the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, the accused and others still at large on 14th March 2025 at Lwakonge village in Kiboga district seized and violently evicted several occupants off the land comprised in Block 542, Plot 2 in Kiboga district.
The accused also destroyed plantations and assaulted some of the occupants on the land.
The dispute on the contested land is between a group of departed Asians who have a freehold title dating from 1932 and Mwanje Badru who got a mailo title in 1999.
Ainebyoona claims to be working on behalf of the departed Asians to evict Mwanje and other residents.
State House Anti-Corruption Unit rapid response follows H.E the President’s directive to the Head of Unit, Brig Gen Henry Isoke, to investigate the criminal aspects of the matter, while other offices including Ministry of Lands, IGP and DPP ensure the law is upheld.
